Gestational Surrogacy Program

Gestational Surrogacy Program

Becoming a Parent

Becoming a parent is an extremely exciting yet stressful undertaking and we are sympathetic to your well-being before, during, and after the surrogacy experience. This stressful undertaking of becoming a parent, coupled with the fact that navigating a third-party reproduction arrangement is extremely daunting, oftentimes leaves parents unsure of how to manage the process. At The Stork's Nest, we guide parents through this process and coordinate the arrangement so that critical steps in the process are not overlooked. It is our mission to ensure that our intended parents leave the intricate aspects of their journey to us and have a stress-free and positive experience so they have the ability to focus on the joy of the surrogacy.

Gestational Surrogacy is a type of third-party reproduction where a woman carries a child for another couple or individual that is not genetically related to her. The embryo is created with an intended mother’s or donor’s eggs, and an intended father’s or donor’s sperm and is transferred into the gestational surrogate’s uterus through in vitro fertilization (IVF). More often than not, it is more costly than traditional surrogacy (where the surrogate contributes her eggs and is genetically related to the child). The Stork's Nest does not assist with traditional surrogacy arrangements due to the heightened legal risks.

Third party reproduction laws vary from state to state and it is best to seek advice from an attorney experienced in surrogacy and egg donation in your state prior to entering into a surrogacy arrangement. If you live in Indiana,Amanda D. Sapp, Esq. can be of assistance to you (Sapp Law Office, LLC; 317-941-6996; asapp@sapplawoffice.com).

Screening Process

Gestational Surrogates will go through an initial screening process where the initial screening of her medical history, mental health history, criminal history, and insurance are all conducted. Once a gestational surrogate has been matched with intended parent(s), she will be sent to your chosen clinic to undergo the more in-depth screening process, as well as a mental health counselor.

Services

There are two services that The Stork’s Nest offers:

Gestational Surrogacy:

This service provides the assistance of a gestational surrogate for intended parents using embryos created with their genetic material. If you do not have a local fertility clinic, we are happy to provide some options.

Gestational Surrogacy with Donor Material (known or unknown):

This service is for intended parents that are in need of a gestational surrogate and an egg or sperm donor. We are able to provide a referral to local fertility clinics that will have access to a database of numerous donors that meet your needs and preferences if you do not already have a fertility clinic with a donor database. Once you have chosen your donor, you will then be matched with a gestational surrogate.

We are looking forward to helping you achieve your dreams of expanding your family, whether that is in Indiana or around the United States. We pride ourselves on maintaining a small operation so that we can provide professional and reliable services, while giving you the personal attention that is necessary during this exciting time.
